Missions Opportunities

"But ye shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria and unto the uttermost part of the earth."  Acts 1:8

Clayton Baptist Church seeks to obey Acts 1:8 by ministering and witnessing to others in Clayton, Rabun County, Georgia, the United States and throughout the world.  We support the missions programs of the Southern and Georgia Baptist Conventions with our contributions to the cooperative program, Georgia Baptist Children's Home, State Missions Offering, Annie Armstrong Easter Offering for North American Missions, and the Lottie Moon Offering for Foreign Missions.

Our Adult and Youth Mission Teams minister to others locally through our Home Improvement Ministry (H.I.M.), Rabun Christian Food Ministry and various special projects throughout the year.  We provide support for missionaries in China, Thailand, India, Southeast Asia, Africa and Ukraine.

Home Improvement Ministry (H.I.M.)

H.I.M. provides various home improvements and maintenance for people in Rabun County.

Rabun Christian Food Ministry

Clayton Baptist has teamed with an anonymous donor and other local churches to provide food and other necessities to struggling families in Rabun County.

Mission Trip to Ukraine

We are currently exploring the options of another trip to the Ukraine over Thanksgiving.

Youth Triple Play

Each year the youth group participates in the Missions Triple Play which consists of collecting food for a local food pantry, collecting money for World Hunger, and collecting shoeboxes for Samaritan's Purse.

Missions 2009

Two mission trips were taken in 2009.

June 28-July 3 youth participated in M-Fuge in Charleston, South Carolina. They ministered to others in nursing homes, Backyard Bible Clubs, along the beach, and in other ways as needed.

September 8-21 an Adult Team went to Zimbabwe Africa to work in an orphanage in the Masembura Province. They worked on buildings, farming, a water tank, a fence and other projects to help the village become more comfortable and safe as well as self-sufficient, so that they can then reach out to help others in their area. The team carried Bibles, medical supplies, seeds, fertilizer and many other items to the villagers.

Lead by our Youth, Clayton Baptist Church will continue support, which began with a mission trip in November 2008, for orphanages in the Ukraine. We will be adopting an orphanage this year, as well as working on other projects to support the children and staff there.

Anyone interested in supporting any of these trips or becoming a member of the mission team, please contact Joey Thompson, 706-782-4588 or David Rogers, 706-782-4588.
